Touma says: "Probably the most soft-spoken person I've ever met, Shin is always polite to everybody, even when he really shouldn't be so formal. I suppose that makes it a bit odd that his best friend is good old Shuu, who usually reminds me of a mix between a tornado and an air raid siren, but then again, they say that opposites attract... Anyway, Shin likes to cook nearly as much as Shuu and I like to eat, so he's always going to be good in my books! He's pretty quiet, and I think he's a bit shy, too, but if you ever actually get him to talk to you, it doesn't take long to realise that Shin is one of the truest friends a guy could hope for. Anytime, anywhere, if one of his friends is in trouble, you can count on Shin to pull through for them. He's pretty much an expert at any and all sports having to do with water (you should see him on a surfboard!), and there isn't much he likes more than to just hit the waves and get away from it all. The only problem with Shin is that I think he might be a little too sensitive - he won't let any of us eat any fish, because he's friends with them!"

Shin wears the armour of Suiko, which draws its power from the element of water. He can swim like a fish, even wearing a full suit of metal armour, and is strong enough to handle the incredible pressure of the ocean depths. At times, Shin seems to have an almost psychic connection to certain sea creatures, and he is able to stay underwater indefinitely without needing an air supply. His main weapon is the a deadly trident called the Suiko Yari, though he also possesses a tanto dagger in a sheath on his back, and a set of claws that rest on his left gauntlet. In addition, he has proven immune to various poisons and toxins. Since his armour's strength is drawn from water, Shin is a bit slower and weaker when battling on land.

Shin is the Samurai Trooper of sincerity. Due to a lack of self-confidence, compounded by the fact his armour is weaker on land, he is one of the more reluctant Troopers, and fears he may be the least powerful member of the team. He has tried to give up his yoroi once or twice before, but circumstance conspired to force him into taking it back.

Shin Mouri's japanese voice actor, or seiyuu, was Nozomu Sasaki. Sasaki is also known for his roles in other popular anime, such as Mackie Stingray in Bubble Gum Crisis and Bubble Gum Crash!, Kazuya Hasukawa in Koko ha Greenwood, Tetsuo Shima in Akira, Hajime Sakaguchi in Please Save My Earth, Clef in Magic Knight Rayearth, and Prince Sugura Sasaki in Special Duty Combat Unit - Shinesman.

In the Ronin Warriors dub, Cye is voiced by Michael Donovan. Michael is known for his roles as P-Chan in Ranma 1/2, Conan in Conan the Adventurer, Dimitri in Darkstalkers, Kame The Turtle Hermit in Dragon Ball, Sir Darren, Sir Tyrone, and Warlord Hammer in King Arthur And The Knights Of Justice, and Ace Cooper in The Magician. He also provided the english voice for Seiji Date.
